Piano, keyboard, electric and acoustic guitar, composition, theory tuition, musicianship and more..........
Winner in his class for
Suffolk Festival of Performing Arts 2011

Do you or your children want to learn to play an instrument but never get round to it? I can offer tuition in piano, keyboard, electric guitar, acoustic guitar, music theory, musical composition and general musicianship. You can take grades with ABRSM, Trinity College, RGT and Rockschool or simply learn for pleasure.

Adult beginners or those wanting to refresh a rusty technique are most welcome. I have pupils aged between 7 and 70. Taking up learning a musical instrument is always a challenge...but very much worth the effort in my view.

A gift for life : I believe that learning to play an instrument can be one of the most rewarding skills a person can develop. It can open the doors to so many opportunities in the world of music and education, and at the very least give many hours of pleasure and a real sense of achievement.

Motivation is key in my view. My aim is to encourage a love of their instrument, and to create a strong desire to spend time nurturing their developing musicianship.

I make sure that students are given opportunities to play in concert and with other musicians at least once a year. My own student concert usually involves playing alongside drummers, guitarists, string players, keyboard and piano players and singers. Performances include a good mix of classical repertoire as well as rock, pop, jazz and blues.

Lessons are normally weekly, and take place at my home studio, based in Martlesham, between Ipswich and Woodbridge in Suffolk.

Fees as at September 2011 are £14 per half-hour (£28 per hour)
